Discussions with Polish Minister Anna Maria Anders

On the 23rd of March 2017 the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Poland met Polish Minister Anna Maria Anders, the Plenipotentiary of the Prime Minister for International Dialogue. The London-born Senator Anders is Poland’s representative to the Women in Parliaments Global Forum. She is also the daughter of General Wladyslaw Anders, a Polish World War II hero.

The meeting focused on debating Poland’s view on the Brexit negotiations, the situation of EU citizens, as well as the political relationship between Poland and the United Kingdom. Daniel Kawczynski MP declared the APPGP’s support for increasing the British military presence in Poland as well as making sure that the Polish citizens in the UK will have a protected status after Brexit.

Polish Councillor from Ealing Joanna Dabrowska as well as Foreign and Commonwealth Central Europe and Poland’s Desk Officer John Nickell were amongst the participants of the meeting.

The meeting took place in the Cinnamon Club because of the increased security around Westminster. A minute of silence was held in order to mourn those killed in the terrorist attack in which a Polish national was also injured.
